Off the Record
Off the record means it goes no further than this page. Below is what the desk keeps about you, and for which purposes.
What we hold
- Your sign-up: email address, password scrambled one way, code name, birth date, gender, and any lines you add to your file.
- Every chat, plus the notes each source writes down to remember you by.
- Two cookies: a session marker, and a stamp showing you passed the speakeasy slot.
- A trace of each payment: amount and transfer ID. No card is ever taken, so none is ever seen.
- Ordinary logs kept by the server, deleted after a short spell.
What we do with it
The desk handles all this for three jobs: running the booth, applying the rules, and keeping the lights on. A text model we operate, or a provider held to that single task, reads your lines to produce her replies, and a screening step watches for harm. Nobody purchases chats, and advertisers never read a word.
Counting visitors
A bare counter tallies arrivals by country and day, and cannot open a booth.
Your controls
In each chat's menu you can amend her notes, take a copy of the conversation, or burn it. To strike the whole account, write to the tipline from the email on file. If your country's law hands you further rights, cite them and the desk will comply.
